Mama must be so very sweet, of course they purr at her very nearness.
You are right to want to keep them in pairs, we have Buffy & Scruffy Finkelstein, a pair that were found in a trucking garage, and could not have dreamt of separating: Buffy took such good care of her brother, he did not know how to eat, could not drink from a bottle so he would drip and soak his whole tiny body, and she would spend long periods just grooming her little brother.
Asking people that wish to adopt them to keep them together should not be that difficult, as they are so adorable when they play and sleep together.

PS: Our local Petco helps get pets adopted, perhaps your local store can assist you in finding a good family for the little twin-kit's?
