i recently had a child approx 7 1/2 months ago. 6 weeks later i had the mirena inserted. at the same appointment i was prescribed an
Antibiotic for some problems i was having. about 3 days later i was having such joint pain in my shoulders i couldn't even put my shirt on without massive pain, the joint pain progressed through out my entire body. i thought it was from the
Antibiotic i was taking, so i immediatley stopped that, however the joint pain never stopped and many other things started to go wrong with me such as: swelling in my hands and feet, water retension, bloating in my stomach along with major abdominal pain, depression, blurred vision, headaches in specific parts of my brain, extreme tiredness, and the worst of all i had an anxiety attack, i felt like i was going to die!!! i asked so many doctors if the iud could be causing all these problems and the answer was always "no". they blamed it on post pardum depression,
Arthritis and just thought i had really high anxiety. i never had any problems before i had the iud. i can't believe they couldn't figure this out. i though i was losing my mind. i almost gave up on figuring out what was wrong with me until i seen a lady on the news telling all women to get their hormones checked. i scheduled an appointment right away and sure enough my estrogen level was low enough to be goinh thru menapause! and my doctor told me the iud was causing my estrogen to drop. i had the iud removed about 2 weeks ago and all my symptoms seem to be fading away. i just want to say the mirena almost ruined my life! i asked the doctor why dont they check hormone levels on women before inserting iuds and in a nut shell it wasnt cost effective. i spent so much money on different doctors and went thru so much anxiety i think i should be compensated in some way. along with all the other women in this website. if there is a class action i want to be part of it. please email me if there is such a thing taking place.
