Epsom Salt Bath Assistance

Ah right - I want to take an Epsom Salt bath. The only problem I have is that I use city water. City Water = chlorine, flouride, etc.
Now... I cannot get a whole house water purification system so I am wondering if anybody knows how to eliminate those toxins or severely decrease them if I fill up the tub with hot water and put in Epsom Salts . Do you add lemons? (chuckling!) I dunno, I know those things kill a lot of stuff. I just don't want to get in the hot tub with open pores and then get all those toxins in my skin when the whole purpose is purify!
Now this week I will be buying a shower filter. Yeah, but that's for the stand up shower. It's not in the tub.

DUH... That's a great idea! Actually, the shower filter that I will be buying is for the downstairs shower unit but when I take Epsom Salt baths, I'll just unscrew it and bring it upstairs to that bath tub.
See? I knew somebody on here would know the answer! (hearty laughter!!)

He's actually my brother! But I do beleive that chlorine is acidic and that by adding the alkalizing substances that this should neutralize the chlorine! However you may need to add more then the normal amounts! This is why i think you should ask moreless I am sure he could give you a better answer!- Re: Epsom Salt Bath Assistance North Coast Man

So does Vitamin C powder I'd imagine-- since it detoxifies stuff like that in the body.?
What i'd do til you can eventually ALSO get a filter for your bathtub water faucet-- or sink, is get one of those giant Spaghetti pots people boil corn on the cob in. Fill up with filtered water from your stand up shower. Boil over the stove and dump in the tub. Add some bottles of Cheap spring water you can find in the grocery store to increase the amount of water in the tub-- or to cool it down some.
If you have patience, you can boil two giant pots of filtered water on the stovetop, and have more to dump into your bathtub. Don't forget to only fill the pots up with water from you stand-up shower after you install the shower filter.
If I were you, I'd get a Sears Kenmore Water distiller on the side (cost from $99.- to $123 (depending on their store sales) And distill some for boiling for footbaths with Epsom Salts . These Epsom Salt footbaths are also therapeutic for the body. Finish off with ice water to rev up the circulation and lymph flow.- Re: Epsom Salt Bath Assistance North Coast Man

boldyloxx, do you realize how difficult what you recommended is?
I only say that because I have tried to do something similar! It bummed me out! lol
I was living in an apartment that only had a FIVE GALLON water heater (whose stupid idea was that? It wasn't enough water for a 5 minute shower!!) and I wanted to take a hot bath. I tried running the hot water into the tub, then waiting for the water to heat up in the water heater - and simultaneously boiling water in big pots on the stove and dumping them into the bath. This was on the EQUATOR, mind you! It took a lot of time and effort, and I still could not get a satisfactory bath! When it was warm enough, it would only be about 1/3 a tub full! That doesn't even cover my legs. And by the time I could get the tub about 2/3 full, it would not be warm enough! VERY frustrating.
In the future I definitely want to figure out a way to have large amounts of pure, hot water in my house!- Re: Epsom Salt Bath Assistance North Coast Man

This is a reply to # 793,962I have been drinking prill water for several years, you can make it from your tapwater. You buy the beads once and use them forever.
You can wash your veggies/fruit etc in it. And you can put 2 gallons in your bath for chlorine and fluoride.
Also check the oxygen forum #710... (forgot) and I have talked about it, I think there are 2 threads.

BTW from Andreas I learned just to run the hot water to get rid off the chlorine and then let the bath cool off.
