The website that is referred to (
http://www.tmj-help.org
) is the website for the TMJ Help Program, by Katherine Page. So what is the TMJ Help Program? I started doing it a few months ago and it's working great for me so let me tell you more about it.
The tmj help program is a series of exercises designed to relieve tmj pain. The program includes exercises for the jaw, the mouth, the neck, the shoulders and the rest of the body.
The author takes a 100% natural approach to the tmj issue. Instead of telling you to take drugs, she helps you realign your body, which is one of the main causes of tmj. She says that a bad body posture for example, might do more harm to your tmj than you may think. When you think about it, it totally makes sense too.
So there are over 30 exercises for all the body parts mentioned above. I personally do the jaw and neck exercises as I think i have a pretty good body posture. It's been about 3 months now and my tmj pain is almost gone. I practice 4 of the exercises on a daily basis and they are not intrusive at all. I mostly practice them in my car while in traffic, or when watching TV at night. It takes me maybe 10 minutes a day.
I had been referred to this website by my chiropractor and I really can't thank him enough for that...
Hope this will help :)
