I have noticed this several times over the past 8 years each time I make an attempt to start the candida diet.
If I cut out everything that is the slightest bit sweet (including all fruit except plain cranberries and lemons, which aren't at all sweet), and all refined starches, and yeast-containing foods, and do this all at the same time...
I go absolutely nuts - I'm so hyperactive I could be a combination of 5 of the most sugar-fed hyperactive 5 year old kids you have ever met.
I can't sit still for three seconds, my pulse is fast (although no, my heart does not pound like for some people), and I can't work on just one thing that doesn't involve MOVING my body around quickly.
Anyone notice this? The only way that I can go further into the candida diet is to do so gradually. No amount of "calming" methods like warm baths, meditation, chamomile tea does anything when I have this type of hyperactivity. The only thing that calms my energy down in the midst of this is to eat a small amount of one of the forbidden candida food groups, mentioned above.
The only way I was able to sit down and write this message is that I first took a few bites of white flour noodles - to slow down.
I do make progress with improving the diet, but must do so slowly. And in the meantime, man what a ride this is - anybody have a house needing painted, attic needing cleaned out, other chores requiring lots and lots of physical movement? ;-)
