Hi all....just wanted to post some everyday uses for essential oils.
For a quick carpet freshener, you need: a small bowl (preferably glass so it doesn't retain the scent), a box of ordinary baking soda, and 15-20 drops of your favorite essential oil. Add the essential oil to the baking soda and mix well. Leave that sit overnight covered to allow the baking soda absorb all of the scent (but for company emergencies, this can be used right away). Sprinkle on the carpet as you would those carpet deodorizers that you buy. Let sit for 1 hour and vaccuum up. As an added bonus...every time you vaccuum after that you'll smell it (unless of course you change the bag)
My favorite scents to use for this is Lavendar, Eucalyptus, Geranium, or Orange.
Add a few drops of Grapefruit or Orange EO to the rinse water when cleaning your kitchen or refrigerator...it is disinfecting and smells good too!
Give your candles a boost. After lighting a candle, drop a few drops of EO into the melted pool of wax. Be sure to avoid the flame as essential oils are flammable.
Next time you change the toilet paper roll...put a few drops of EO on the inside of the cardboard roll. Every time somebody uses it, it gives off a scent. My favorite scent to use for this is Eucalyptus.
Give your dried potpourri a boost...add a few drops of EO to the potpourri and close it up in an airtight container overnight.
Add a few drops of Lavendar to your rinse water of your clothes washer cycle...or put a few drops on an old towel or washcloth and toss this in your dryer.
Ok, all I can think of for today!!
