What kind of coconut oil do people use to swish with? At the health food store I only saw coconut oil for external cosmetic use. Is this oil safe for swishing or do I need to look for a specific cooking coconut oil? I honestly haven't looked very diligently yet. I just happened to be near the health food store and thought I would see what kind of oil selection they carried. Very dismal actually.
2 weeks of swishing so far, oils used: sesame, sunflower and olive. sunflower is the mildest for me, sesame if my favorite and I haven't decided how I feel about OO. I want to try some other oils to see how they work. So far very impressed with OP plan to add this to my daily routine.- Re: coconut oil? sandover

I actually just went to the store to look for hemp oil and came back with a jar of coconut oil! I have purchased the Spectrum coconut oil and used it for both pulling and cooking (and also on my skin).
Other people have made the point that coconut oil is so expensive that you might want to reserve it for eating/cooking. I like swishing with it, but I do agree -- although we are on a very tight budget and I would love to swish with it otherwise for its antibacterial properties. For that, I add a little oregano oil to whatever kind I am using.
Folks, any ideas on where to get hemp oil? They did not have it at the LHFS (local health food store!).
