I don't want anything to be "added" to the products I use, including water. That means fluoride, and also chlorine, benzene, and so on... That's why I drink distilled water, and bathe in filtered water. That's the best I can do right now. The natural fluorine in my green tea doesn't really concern me.
Fluoride is nowhere near to being deemed "harmful" by the public at large. Of course production companies and lawyers aren't concerned. Most people WANT to have fluoride in their water and toothpaste. They are worried their teeth will fall out of their head if they don't have it! The few people here and there proclaiming that it is harmful are labeled "kooks" and "extreme." Just because something is harmful doesn't mean that it can win a court case. Maybe it could have in the "olden days" but things are much more complicated today. And there are so many different groups using fluoride - water municipalities and all the major toothpaste manufacturers. They would all have to share and receive blame, and be sued across the board. One group such as P&G is just a part of a bigger picture.
Anyway, one of the purported effects of fluoride is making people susceptible to brainwashing. In that case, that makes things easier, doesn't it?
Also, most people aren't interested in things like this. They wouldn't want to change. If I mention it, either they seem bored, or adamant about their status quo. They idea that anything they do daily could be harmful really seems impossible to them. In other words... most people won't listen or consider the POSSIBILITY that things could be quite different than the way they seem.
I don't live in fear. I don't have any cavities or fillings, use antiperspirants, regular toothpaste, regular cleaning products, cook with teflon, use a microwave, and so on down the list... but it's not a big deal. Basically all we need is plain water to clean ourselves and our things. A splash of vinegar here, hydrogen peroxide there isn't too difficult.
Part of the theory behind fluoride
additives is to protect the likes of poverty-stricken children who eat sugary things all the time and don't brush their teeth properly, and other segments who don't "do right" by their teeth. I don't fall into any of those categories.
I do think that fluoride is harmful. But even if I weren't sure, I like to err on the side of safety. If I'm not sure about something, I just avoid it. There are plenty of ways to have strong healthy bones and teeth, I am confident about that. So I'll just avoid the fluoride additives, thank you very much.
