Thank you for your insightful response. The transition to raw foods is a physical and emotional growth that can lead one through many phases. It's a dynamic process with rewards and frustrations that keeps one on his/her toes.
What many people don't realize is that the overconsumption of dried and fresh fruits can be a symptom of hypoglycemia. If blood
Sugar is maintained, with easy to assimilate proteins like those found in sprouts and greens (esp. sunflower greens),
Sugar cravings will be lessened. And, as you stated, candida puts
Sugar cravings into overdrive. If we feed our sugar craving with simple sugars, that sets up a chain of events which can lead to extreme pancreas fatigue… and then it’s really downhill.
Having said that, the over consumption of nuts, with or without sugars, can put a strain on digestion as attested to by some of the input on this forum. One way to lighten the load, significantly, is to first soak the nuts then dehydrate them to get their crunch back. The enzyme inhibitors will be neutralized and the protein will be more easily assimilated and digestion will be smoother.
Some folks have pretty severe constipation on living foods. I did. When I went to Hippocrates I was disappointed (so say the least) with the sluggishness of my bowels. I found an incredible antidote: flax. I make a drink with carrot juice (I know…sugar) and lecithin, brewers yeast, flax oil and fresh flax meal. Surprisingly, it tastes pretty good and goes through my system smooth as silk. To supplement that I eat flax crackers made in my dehydrator. Some folks might not want to add the lecithin and yeast and that’s fine. The yeast I use isn’t a byproduct of brewing; rather it’s grown on beets and tastes good and doesn’t feed candida (Lewis Labs brand). I drink a lot of water as well. Even low level dehydration can lead to acidity which can lead to bone loss over time.
Regarding Candida, I had it pretty bad. I found a product on the internet that worked quickly. It’s from a multilevel company, which is a turnoff right there, but the product is amazing. It’s called Threelac. I didn’t try any of the other products they sell and I’m not affiliated with the company at all so I’m not trying to sell anything. In fact Threelac appears to be the only unique product in their line. I had major results in five days. It was the first time I could be one of those people who writes a testimonial about something. You know, the kind of anecdotal account that anyone in their right mind would never believe.
Well, here it is.
