Hey --
I have had really bad skin for a while, but it got a lot worse in the past few months. I think hormonal stuff going on. Anyway, I did start the oil-pulling, which seemed sort of weird at first (but, as I pointed out to a friend, at least it's more discreet than the enemas recommended around the Liver Flush!).
I had pretty drastic results. Noticeable within a couple of days. Really -- skin cleared up in two ways -- nothing new happened, and what was there lessened in severity. A lot!
Go to the OP support group...very nice people and there is a lot of information and experience. Also, try oilpulling.com for more info. It is a really easy thing to do (alot of people seem to do it while they read CZ!) -- about 20 minutes a day, and not as expensive as the
Master-Cleanse or
Liver Flush -- all you need is sunflower seed, seseame seed, or olive oil (though you can use others).
The other thing that I have tried with success, counterintuitive though it may sound, is to use coconut oil on my skin. That seems to help a great deal. What I do is to wash in the morning, apply a 1:5 ACV/H20 mixture, and then to use the coconut oil, which has strong antibacterial properties. And just let it sit there until it absorbs!
The coconut oil is also used by some for the oil in the OP regimen, so you could really kill two birds with one stone here!
Dubble -- I would not have left the house w/o some makeup a week ago, and I felt fine about it today. That is how quickly this stuff worked.
I do think I will do the Liver Cleanse (haven't as I have young children who are still nursing) and MC. But, oil-pulling also stimulates the liver to detox, so if you are not positioned to do a liver cleanse, the oil-pulling is still a liver cleanser, so to speak. I do think, based on reading Mike Walden's
Acne No More, that it (acne) is a sign that our inner filters are not working. My friend WIll, who has done all of this stuff for a long time, said that his
Acne cleared up within a short time of doing the colon and liver cleanses, too.
For me it always comes back to taking the action when I want a quicker fix. And then of course it's a year later and I am in the same boat, because I haven't done a damn thing!
Good luck, all, and hope to see some of you at OP.
Laura
