Howdy folks!
Well we have a Husky sheperd mix dog named Mandi-- who for the past year has started to smell really bad in the house. She is a housedog, but would much rather stay outside-- however, due to neighbor issues, we have to keep her indoors- except to do her business.
The veternarian told us that her gland near her rump is causing the smell--- and there is nothing we can do about it--as many dogs have that problem where it starts leaving an odor.
I have noticed that she has always loves Brewers Yeast--
I dont know if it's the Brewers Yeast treats I've been giving her--- or else, its the fact that we have been letting her stay outside longer at nights-- but she has no more odor!
She loves to sit in the snow for hours-- and when we get a giant snowfall -- sometimes all you can see are her two cute black pointy ears sticking up out of the snow ;-)
Lately, she's been laying on the patio on top of the ice and slush-- and just enjoying herself there- while our other- more thin-skinned dog cant wait to get back inside out of the cold.
that odor she had was getting so bad, that my mother was going to start spraying her bottom with Febreeze. I asked her not to put that toxin on her!
So it could either be the Brewers Yeast- or the fact that she's been permitted to stay outside longer and the cold is helping her glands.
Just thought i'd share this info- if anyone is having a similar problem with thier dogs gland smelling.
