In addition to the soaking baths, try this:

Make an epsom salt paste adding just enough water to make the paste. Spread it on the infected area and then wrap it in Saran Wrap. It's kinda messy, but it works.

I tried everything when I had poison ivy, but nothing worked until I decided to try the epsom salts and it cleared it up within just a few days.....and I had had poison ivy for weeks!

Most likely the only way to get poison Ivy is to have an iron imbalance and probably more deeper than just iron. Once it has entered the body, you need to treat the blood and not just the skin. Fasting or blood cleansing herbs are ideal. Consuming herbs known to balance the iron seems to be the miracle cure for many.
Yellow Dock being KING of those class of herbs.

I've never had poison ivy, but I've heard Jewelweed is excellent for that.

Hi I had poison ivy this past summer.. ususally goes gang busters for me.. I asked here on barefoot and started taking 2-3 yellow dock caps three x's daily, applied jewel weed.. then after that dried.. I put some plantain salve on it. low and behold is was totally gone in a week! Now I don't even go off camping w/o taking the yelllow dock with me!
