Hi Anja!
I used to have very very low blood sugar and extremely low blood pressure too, even when I was eating 100% raw. It wasn't until I went fruitarian that my body balanced out. I eventually stopped being fruitarian, and a host of old and new complaints beseiged me!!
Before the fast I used to have to eat regularly to avoid gallbladder attacks, somehow having an empty stomach and then eating would trigger them, I am curious to see what happens now. I think this reaction was really my body saying "just fast!! No food necessary today!" but of course it took me a long while and a lot of pain before I decided to listen!
I don't believe in the blood type diet, and not just because MH doesn't. I am 0+ and they say I shouldn't eat coconuts and nothing in this world makes me feel better than a coconut, it is one of the most healthy foods on earth I believe. There are many other healthy foods prohibited to people on this diet. As you said, if you are eating meat and potatoes the body reacts very differently to healthy foods, so it is impossible to judge what is good or bad for you with a system so polluted as the average person's.
I LOVE to cook too! It is one of my favorite passtimes! I never eat what I cook (because its cooked!), but my hubby has fun and I love the smell of spices filling the house! I will probably continue to cook for him, I have been throughout the fast. Him eating and me not makes it so obvious how much work we subject ourselves to by cooking! All those dishes to wash!!!
I had zero blood sugar problems on the fast, and the first week or so it was very easy to fast, but I had to force myself to have the juices, I wasn't hungry for them in the least, later I settled in and had most of the 8 oranges worth of juice every day. There were 2 days of fatigue in the first week or two, but that's all the bad stuff I felt. I had nearly black blood come out with my period (some kind of detox), and last week I got the hiccups and had a bit of pain from some kind of muscle spasm, but other than that the whole thing was a breeze!
I did have a bad dream in the first week that my nails were deteriorating, which scared me, but I have since realised this was some social fear expressing itself, ( a life time of brainwashing about the necessity of constant feeding!). Everyone here put me at total ease after that. I think around week three my memeory got a bit vague for a few days too, but nothing major.
I didn't feel apprehensive about fasting before I started, I was a bit impatient with having to do the three liver flushes first, but I did them and couldn't wait to get into the fast. I did 2 months of prep in the form of reducing food intake and 100% raw of course, and oregano oil daily for roughly a month before.
Sounds like you are heading in thr right direction with your health! The more you read the more comfortable you will get with going more and more raw and healthy. There's no point fighting against your mind, you must train the mind like MH says. I didn't fully understand him on this point when I first read it, but now I see how massively important this is! I believe blood sugar problems are much more than just blood sugar, I have a feeling they are about feeling ill at ease with your diet. Dietry discomfort/panic I mean. Your body is trying to tell you something. Good luck and best wishes, keep us posted in your progress!
Peace
P.S. I did look a little drawn in the first 2 weeks of the fast and after that I looked really bright and healthy according to everyone's comments, much much better than normal, I can see this too. I wouldn't worry too much about this aspect of it.
