I can tell you that my guess is, many small veins in his body are varicose and you only notice his eyes. It is a warning, a warning most old folks want to ignore! It is like taping over your gas gauge on the car, you hope you will not run out of gas and you know what happens, sooner or later, he will run out of warnings!
