This is a reply to # 708,776Oh come on...it's all about control. Pro lifer's, and ESPECIALLY the fundamentalist Christians, want to control every aspect of a women's behavior, from the sexual life, to their physical life, to their political and religious life.
I truly believe they could care less about "all those little unborn voices" blah blah. What they want to do is tell women what to do. That's one of the wonderful things about fundamentalist religions, it's all about how to make the women subservient, and that is so true for the abortion issue too.
When you look at abortion, it's basically a medical procedure, but the pro life have imbued all this mystical fairy-tail crap onto it, that it's impossible to discuss anything without their use of "god" and "jesus". All one big drama, really.
Just look at the posts here.....Weep for the Unborn, Who will take care of me when I'm old, How many artists have been aborted.....jeesh, might as well go back to Junior High.

You don't think it can happen, well, I'm here to tell you, that if some people in power could make it so, women would lose the vote too.
Abortion is just one issue where society has tried to strip the rights of women. And, I hate to say this, but religion helps that along so nicely. Promise Keepers, and all that crap. We are the gender that has the children, and it intimidates the hell out of men. So, let's just strip all rights away, including our right to either bear, or NOT bear children.

When in fact all it does is make us hurt ourselves and kill our offspring. This is not about power. Women will never lose the right to vote again. But God willing one day abortion will not be a legal practice in this country. Power is not about hurting someone else or taking something from them to make yourself feel bigger. That is not anyone's right. We do not have the right to take someone else's life. What you believe is a lie. This is not about religion its about being human.

As for men SUPPOSEDLY having power . . . it really does not take much investigation to find many instances of inequality around the world right now (in legislation and traditional practice).
