Forum group. If CZ bans this forum, I absolutely wouldn't blame them. If people are so interested in discussing this issue, perhaps it's time to take a new direction. I'm reposting something I wrote on the 18th, perhaps this might resonate with some of you now -
Why can't we discuss some of the political and social aspects of this turmoil around the country? People out there, are far more interesting to discuss than the never ending, is it right, is it wrong, is it good, is it evil.....There's a whole world out there fighting this. Don't you think it would be interesting to post things that are being written about this? Things in the newspapers? Politicians attitudes and hypocrisies? It would make for a much more interesting discussion, and perhaps if we commented on other people in the media, we wouldn't have to rip each other apart, we could rip THEM apart. Every time I've posted something from afar, I've gotten little response. But the emotional posts go on and on.
People here are starting to badger each other, and it is ugly ugly ugly. It's a serious subject, but sometimes you have to lighten up a bit. The people posting here at curezone, are not your enemies. But seriously, you act as if they are. Some down right horrible and insulting posts, directly meant to hurt and shame another person.
I would never, to anyone's face, mock their choice of religion. I would also never belittle or shame a person to their face either. I'm sure most of you also would never do that. But it certainly seems OK with the anonymity of a computer and fake name/number. Why can't we use the same skills we would have in a face to face exchange? Use tact, and intellect, not brutish slander.
There are also certain ways to question the validity of someone's argument, even in a theological context. And if someone does use theology, why can't we respect their view and rebut in a like manner?
I'm sorry, I don't mean to come off sounding like an old schoolteacher, I just think things have gotten a bit out of control.
