My post was not to extoll the virtues of abortion. My post was to acknowledge that there are women out there, in desperate situations, and the fact that abortion is still legal, they do have choices.
Now if these desperate women turn to an organization or even a church for assistance, and decide to keep the baby, at least they still had that choice. If there were no other choices, then desperate women, who could be in similar situations, would only have one choice. And in some situations that lack of choice could be deadly, or possibly unrecoverable. Women who have no choice would resort to awful devices to terminate their pregnancy.
Now, we are again, not talking about how wonderful abortion is. We are talking about saving women from themselves, and those that would take advantage of them. A woman hell bent on terminating a pregnancy, will go to extremes to do so. You call these women selfish, I call many of these women victims.
I've noticed that there is quite a "religious" base on the pro-life side of this forum. It has always amused me that the people who speak the most about God or the Bible are the ones least empathetic to the plight of the woman. If you dispute this, I WILL go back to past posts and pull all the examples I can find...so be very careful about how you respond, if at all, to this statement.
No one ever said that abortion is a good thing. Please, try to stop intimating that pro-choice people like abortions. As a die hard pro-choice person, I would not think very highly of any person that thought of it as a wonderful surgical procedure.
