Thank you kind people in advance, for being so patient with me-- I have so much to learn and you all seem to know so much! My question is this: I have always understood that combining lentils with rice is the best way to go, because the amino acids join to make a complete protein that way. Now, with all this talk of food combining, I'm a little confused- if we aren't supposed to combine proteins with carbs, then shouldn't we not combine lentils (protein) with rice (carb)? Will they be indigestible that way? Since they've long combined these foods in India, I've always thought this was a sound, healthful combo.
The whole food-combining thing interests me greatly, but I find it confusing- I'm never quite sure what gets defined as a protein, for example...nuts are protein? Legumes?
thanks to all,
