I'm on the Atkins Diet. Lost 50+
pounds so far. I don't think this site will help you much with it unless you do a search at the top of the page with the words Atkins diet in it. I'm sure it would make a great separate topic. Or perhaps a low carb diet page would be better so that it would interest more people. You really need to purchase his book so that you understand why you are eating the things you end up eating and so that you understand how the diet works.
While I'm on the Atkins diet topic though I did want to warn you that the one bad side effects some people have with the Atkins diet is gallbladder stones. Even Dr. Atkins acknowledges this problem in his book. He attributes it to low fat diets which can cause the liver to become sluggish. When you suddenly begin to eat more fat your body may not know how to handle it and stones which were probably already there may start to move to uncomfortable spots. Anyway, to the point... I really believe that if you are going to start the Atkins diet you should do the
Liver Flushes in conjunction with the diet. This should keep you from developing a problem and having to have your gallbladder removed. You can find some of the
Liver Flushes on the front page of this website. I've made a low carb adaptation which you can read here if you decide to try it. There is also a
Liver Flush Support Forum which is a lot of help.

Another negative side effect some people have during the first stages of the Atkins diet is constipation. You can prevent this by using the "Water Cure" in conjunction with the diet. Again the recipie can be found on this website.
Good luck on your weight loss,
