Does anyone know if using Coconut Oil in a recipe to replace butter, is it a one to one substitution?
Example: if a recipe calls for one cup of butter, do you use one cup of Coconut Oil?
I know that suing honey instead of sugar, it is usually half the amount needed for the sugar, but I do not know about the coconut oil.- Re: Coconut Oil Substitution MentalNomad

MoreThis is a reply to # 661,548So far in the recipes I have tried I have used one cup for one cup and it has worked well, though mine have been in recipes that call for oil--I haven't tried any that call for butter as of yet. Namaste, Caitlin Lorraine

I have used it as a one to one substitution, you could probably omit, 1/8 th of the measurement of the coconut oil, as it is a little greasier, but don't fret yourself about it.

This is a reply to # 661,552I did make some carob brownies the other day. The recipe called for one cup of melted butter. I used I cup of coconut oil instead. They seemed to be a bit fluffier then when I use the butter and they tasted really great.
