Dear Andreas -
I saw your reply regarding hypothyroidism and thought I would ask for your advice.
I have chronic renal disease, which was diagnosed in 1981 after the birth of my son. It has been pretty steady until the past year and has now, gotten worse and I am on the transplant list.
About two years ago, I began gaining weight which I contributed to starting menopause. I went to my doc. and he ran some tests which showed I had hypothyroidism. He prescribed synthroid, which I have been taking, however, have not lost any of my weight.
In addition, I had a viritual scan done about 2 years ago which showed lucencies (cysts) on my liver.
Recently, I have been having severe abdominal pain in my lower right side. I thought it was appendicitis and went to the hospital. They did a CT scan and also an external and internal ultrasound. The only thing they found was a small cyst on my right ovary. I really do not think that this is causing my pain. My doc. has now scheduled a colonoscopy.
I was thinking of trying a liver cleanse, etc., but I am scared given my health problems, although, it would probably benefit me. I also suffer from anemia due to the kidney disease. I would greatly appreciate any advice you have to offer. Thanks.
