Is there a name of a specific cancer protocol you are following? It will be easier for people to make meal suggestions if they know the specific route you are taking. If you don't have a specific one, I suggest you look around at several, browsing around curezone, to get ideas if nothing else. For example, Dr. Clark has a book "The Cure for All Cancer." That one's good but possibly a little complicated to use with a child.
I suggest you check Dr. Lorraine Day's websight, www.drday.com
She has video/audio "Cancer doesn't scare me anymore" and "more on cancer" and a workbook too, I think. She was a traditional medical doctor who developed a HUGE tumor on her chest and healed it through nutrition and since she has been a powerful nutritional doctor/speaker. Her program primarily features juicing. When I say juicing, she was drinking 13 cups a day. I also suggest you check hallelujah acres (www.hacres.com) as their program is similar to Dr. Day's, they also promote Dr. Day's materials. She plays hardball and tells it like it is, if you haven't seen her video then I strongly recommend you watch it.
In any case, my understanding is that a cancer protocol primarily features juicing. Mostly veggies (carrots, beets, greens) and lesser fruits (reducing natural sugar). So most of the "meals" would be numerous cups of juice daily. If you don't own a good juicer, now is the time to buy one, and start using it, daily. And possibly other meals could be different raw veggies and fruits processed in the blender, making it easier to eat and digest. As you mentioned, no animal products, sugar, processed foods. And even the healthy fats must be kept to a very low amount, because the cancer apparently feeds on fat. Some people will suggest all raw but others will allow some steamed veggies because after all they are still veggies and this increases variety. For example, if you're getting bored with carrot juice (or carrot ginger beet YUM) then I don't think eating steamed broccoli would cause a setback.
Hope this helps you.
