I received a letter from our "lovely" government health care system. This letter was addressing my son and the fact that he has never received any of the "recommended" vaccinations.
I just want to quote a few of the letter's ridiculous statements:
«"Vaccinations are also called "immunizations", "needles" or "shots". They are a safe and effective way to prevent many serious diseases. Vaccinations help your child stay healthy. Provincial Health routinely checks the vaccination records of all school age children. However, our records may be incorrect or incomplete"»
How brilliant! What lies! Safe? I say prove it! Preventative? I say prove it! Because I definitely can prove otherwise.
So then the letter goes on to list what the recommended number of vaccine doses are:
«"The following table lists the recommended number of doses of vaccines, and those vaccine doses that your child has not yet been given:»
Vaccines | Recommended Doses | Number of Doses Not Yet Given |
Diphtheria | 4 | 4 |
Tetanus | 4 | 4 |
Pertussis | 4 | 4 |
Measles | 2 | 2 |
Mumps | 1 | 1 |
Rubella | 1 | 1 |
Polio | 3 | 3 |
«"*Note: Many of these vaccines are given together safely in one needle. For example: measles, mumps and rubella in one needle; and diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus and polio in one needle."»
Wow - they call autism in a needle safe?
«"STEP 1: Please read through the table above to see if the "vaccines not yet given" information is correct for your child. Your child's doctor or public health nurse may have given you a list called an "Immunization Record". It shows which vaccines your child has received. To give us information to correct our records, please mail, fax or bring a copy of the immunization Record to the public health unit.»
Sorry, I don't have a record because my child is legally exempt from all vaccines because of religious, concienscious exemption and it being my right to choose under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
«"STEP 2: If your child has NOT received all the recommended vaccines:
Make an appointment with your child's doctor or usual health care provider for your child to be immunized. Please bring this record with you when you take your child to be immunized."»
No. I will not make an appointment with my child's doctor because:
a) He has no need of vaccines
b) I don't have too
I find it extremely frustrating that this letter is written in such a manner that it makes me the parent think there is no option but to vaccinate my child. When in fact there is an option and it is my right as a parent to choose whether or not to vaccinate my children. Unfortunately that is not guaranteed public knowledge. To find that out I must dig deep and do my own lengthy research to find out all the facts. Even when that research is done and I make an informed decision (as my right) to not vaccinate I am still harassed!
As of this moment I'm not sure how I'll proceed - but I think I will write a letter back informing "them" of my rights and that I plan to exercise them!
