How high the Bag? How far the tube?

I always use only a few inches of the tube [with a 3" hard plastic nozzle] up my anus, but one post suggested about 12" to 18" up the rectum. {whoa!
Am I just too anal-retenetive? Does this also explain why sometimes I "lose" the enemas [nothing comes back out!].
The other Q is how high do we hang the bag? I've noticed the high pressure outflow when the bad is too high, and seem to do okay with it just at mid-thigh level.Maybe higher up would send the water into my rectum better, further, so it will then cause the reaction [expulsion action]?

Holy shnikeys - 12 -18 inches!?!?!?!
Wow. I wouldn't know about that as I am somewhat of an enema bag novice. The three inches works great for me, but I do hang the bag up higher - I hang it off my towel rack and the pressure is actually good because it all goes in faster.

Since I got my colema board, I have not done any enema's anymore.
But I can tell you I have never heard about 12-18".
Do what is comfortable 2-3".
I also always hung the bag on the towel bar. while I was on the floor.

You are doing it just fine. If your colon is dehydrated, it will keep the water. The body recycles water, putting it where it is most needed and takes it back from the colon when we don't drink enough. So if the water has been taken for recycling, the feces would be dry and absorb enema water. The height of the bag is what is comfortable for you. This is a reply to # 626,366Don't know where you got that 12-18 inches information - sounds like something that may have come off an enema-kinky site. That's not what this forum is about.
You should never insert a tube more than three inches into the rectum. You could do serious damage and perforate your colon, which would be very bad news.
