Oh definately - hygiene is the most important thing! I have to agree with you there. My point is that surely it is better to totally eradicate a disease eg smallpox, polio etc to make sure no one could get it? In this day and age, imagine a smallpox outbreak in a big city - hundereds of thousands would pop their clogs.
I do agree that we should get rid of the mercury based
preservatives . There are much better and safer ones out there.
As to vaccines being related to autism etc, I've looked at the study in the UK about MMR. This appeared to show that autism was related to the MMR jab given at age two. Unfortunately, the researcher did not measure autism in a control group (one not given the MMR). When this was done, it showed the same rate/amount of autism as for the MMR group. It is a combination of two factors 1) Autism tends to first show signs at around age two, and 2) The guidelines for the diagnosis of autism had recently been updated, allowing easier diagnosis of autism. This accounted for the increased number of diagnosis.
Also, I have met in the course of my training, people suffering from preventable diseases. They weren't pleasant and many left severe damage. For myself, I have had, and will continue to have, vaccinations. I feel that they are a safe option and my risk is going to be higher working in a hospital.
However, this is easy for me to say.. I don't have children. I imagine that it will be a much harder decision when I do.
Ithink that this is one of those things where I have my view and you have yours. We could argue this around in a circle, but frankly I want to keep this amicable!!
I wish you all health and happiness,
Merry Christmas!!
Chris ;-)
