Peace Is More Than It Appears
Peace Is More Than It Appears
Peace is a way of life that is completely the opposite of violence in every way. Peace is an inner stance. It takes great strength to maintain it at first because the urge towards violence is so strong.. But just hold the two paths up in your mind for a minute or two so you can decide which one serves you better... Several issues taken individually clarify the subject greatly.
For an introduction to the subject read the other article on Peace. This one goes a bit deeper into the concept...
You can visualize Peace and violence as each being the tip of a
different kind of iceberg... This is a rough analogy to be sure, but just get the picture that both Peace and violence generally show you only the "tip" of what they represent. Each of the two approaches to living stands upon a structure. To embrace one belief system or the other is to embrace what they represent as well... Therefor it is important that you decide wisely.
Two basic premises that stand at the center of the violence belief system must be considered. These are the belief in a need for defense, and the belief that only the fittest survive. These grossly untrue assumptions are rarely analyzed from a Spiritual perspective.
To understand how absurd the violence premises are, it is best to
look at them from the perspective of the Peace belief system. Peace, as a way of life, is a dynamic, creative and causative practice that
emulates the powers of Creation and the forces of Life. The very essence of the Peace perspective is that Life is a continuum which is being expressed in a vast number of ways... you are one example. You are unique in that. No expression of Life in all of Creation is what you are. The Life Continuum is only complete with you as part of its expression. You are not the author of the Life Continuum, you are a living part of it.
This is true of all expressions of Life in any form.
As such, you are sharing in an expression which reveals the One Who expresses it... Do you have on your thinking cap now? Have a look at this: You have nothing to defend because you are created by a life greater than any perceived threat. Nothing is going to change what you are because nothing can. You are you, Created as you, for the purpose of being you. Nothing can change that, but you can let a lot of stuff obscure it.
All you can possibly defend is your mistaken belief that you can be something other than what you are Created as... Such thinking only runs in circles and never finds true satisfaction. You find true satisfaction in being what God(all that is) Created you to be. The world cannot tell you what this is, because it does not know. You can only find this by looking at the eternal presence of life as it lives within and around you. Here you realize what you are, and discover true satisfaction. Why even attempt to defend what is not real....
Oh yes, ...people say "if somebody hits me I will hit back.." ...
Violence in some forms can seem to be justified... As long as this is true it will exist. There is no doubt of that. But that is no reason not to begin comprehending a way that delivers true satisfaction for all...Not today, not tomorrow... just set a direction... begin a trend.... feed a current.... add your belief to the ones who know that violence only causes division in a Life continuum that exists as One... You cannot rid the world of violence. You can only avoid it. When enough people do
that it will die of starvation anyway.
If you begin your life from right where it is with a fresh Spirit
of discovery, analysis, and communication with God(higher self)... If you do this and stick right to it as if your very life depended upon it.... You will step upon a path that ends in a full realization of you, and Creation...
Can any path of violence offer such a prize? The answer to that is no. Violence can never offer completion because it rends and divides life by its very nature... The security so desperately fought for by the defenders already exists. It needs only to be discovered in your own time and in your own way. The adventure is great. The excitement is heart-racing intense at times... the prize is a win/win situation that is stable and good for all involved.
As far as Humanity is concerned, the idea of Peace is fairly new.
It is not until the New Testament of the Bible that a comprehensive format and agenda for non violence is given. Even the Old Testament of the Bible is a doctrine based upon violence... Peace is new... Can you dig it? Everybody can be done with the whole violence-based world now, if you want... but probably it will be a while before full realization
dawns upon all. Still, nothing is to stop you from a little exploration of your own.
The life of Peace is much more full rewarding and enriched than any walk of violence or fear. But finding the line of Peace through a given situation is a skill. It must be developed. This web site is dedicated to that. Here, the practice of living the life of Peace is called "the art of Skilling". Here you find your golden challenge. Here you find a basis for living that has meaning and purpose. You cannot find any of these things in the world. You can only find them in Life.
There is nothing easy about embracing the art of Skilling... at
least not from where the world is starting right now, but the rewards are awesome! Contemplate this in earnest.. You are not just considering your own life experience. You stand before the dynamics of the Life Continuum itself. You find yourself part of something so vast as to boggle the mortal mind. It is all yours for the taking... It is all yours to remember...
Do not minimize the scope of your decision. Which path you walk
will determine where you go.... But chose you must. Wandering aimlessly through life is worse than either choice. At least choice implies that one knows what they are getting into.... The premises of violence and the premise of Peace extend into all levels of life. Each approach can be applied to social, educational, psychological and even technical areas
of today's civilization.....
