my dad, whose formal education ended in 6th grade, can STILL be caught quoting schopenhauer. do you think george even knows how to spell his name? it's a great quote, and very a propo. all we can do between now and november next year is wait and see. but it 'aint looking too bright. even with the polls down for ole' georgie, it seems heads of state are too afraid to look cold and careless should they decide to back out of supporting the now torn-up iraqi people. sure, once bush's troops were goose stepped into a sovereign country to "end all terrorism" and wreaked havoc beyond reason and imagination, causing dissidents to cross borders INTO iraq just to add another notch on their belts after killing coalition troops, no one in their right mind will say "let's get outta' there". i agree, there's a lot of work to be done. but at what price (87B)? and for how long? it's not just about the money - there's people with families out there. indeed, they signed up to protect their country, but how much safer ARE we really now? come thursday, will we wake up to another "code yellow" or "code orange"? just to drum up some more fear so he can get his approval ratings back when he decides to "take on terrorism" by giving another "bring 'em on" speech? i think at this point it would backfire, so i hope to goodness he does it! do it, george! test your people! i know i'm waiting with bated breath to see what the bumble*&%@ decides to do next...
