The neuro-toxic element of the Castor Bean Plant, RICIN (rye-sin), is not present in Cold-Pressed Castor Oil...I HOPE! I would not commend the internal use of (Cold-Pressed) Castor Oil because one could not assure that it was properly cold pressed. Not to be too dramatic, the by-product of Castor Bean plants which contains RICIN has been used on sports fields, and has been linked to A.L.S., Lou Gehrig's Disease. If you are a gardener growing this showy but extremely dangerous plant, you might consider excluding it from your repertoire as it is dangerous even to touch, especially for children, and the beans are quite toxic. RICIN cannot be neutralized but, again, should not be present in Cold-Pressed Castor Oil.
