Basic chakra understanding
.................................................................
each chakra is associated with particular organs,
glands and nerve plexuses.
each chakra is also associated with certain states of conciousness.
the 7 chakras function in union, as do the the organs, glands, nerves and other systems of our bodies.
just like in your physical body; the chakras may be weak, strong, balanced or imbalanced.
just as a massage can soothe an aching muscle, or a right nutrient can stimulate a gland,
so also can a chakra be stimulated.
why bother? bringing chakras in balance?
because they are a part of our energy system.
when the human energy system is working in balance, then the body & mind are in balance
also.
the function of the chakras affects every aspect of who we are and how we experience life.
..................................................................
the human body has a spinal system.. the main spinal cord running straight up the middle thru the spine.. and intertwined with it are two ganglionic nerve chains.
this was represented also in the physicians staff..
the main stem (the staff ), with two snakes intertwining upwards (the nerve chains)
and a pair of wings on top representing the 3rd eye; the eye of wisdom.
(all starting at the bottom, ascending to the top to be released upward as the tips of the wings point up into the higher conciousness..
so also is our spiritual energy system connected in the same ways as the physical bodys' electrical nerve system.
the main energy line (likened to the main spinal cord .. runs up the middle
and is called the sushumna
it is along the sushumna that the chakras lie.
intertwining the sushumna are the ida (running up the left central side)
and the pingala (running up the right)
these are like the ganglionic nerve chains. they crisscross at each chakra.
the ida is connected at the end of it to the left nostril and is lunar in nature.
the pingala is connected to the right nostril and is solar in nature.
all these channels in unison with each other convey energy to each chakra.. just as much as the ganglionic and main spinal cord deliver electrical energy to the physical body.
the sushumna is the core channel of all energetic flow within the human body.
