Hi there, that's a lot of questions, but tell me somethin', are you really asking me if something shady is going on here? Do you think if I was doing shady stuff I would fess up just 'cause you asked me? lol

Actually, I was incorrectly assuming that many people here know me and are familiar with my stupid sense of humor. Now you know. Think of it this way, it affords you an excellent opportunity for excercising your patience. (she ducks....)

As for the names of the viruses, as I mentioned, it's not my computer, so it's being taken care of right now by it's chagrined owner. I don't have the virus' names. That's too bad, because I probably would suggest them for my future grandchildren. I do know there was tons of adware. As I write on this other computer, the Norton system utilities is being re-installed, as it would not start up - (which is what I meant that I couldn't get rid of the stuff peacefully)

WE INTERRUPT THIS POST TO TRANSMIT AN ANNOUNCEMENT: I've just received word from the individual manning the infected computer downstairs. A virus has been found named "Bloodhound W32.ep" (No way, I don't like that name)

You ask if I was offended by the Paxil joke. Although I noticed that the man's mustache was very phoney looking, I really overlooked the fact, given his superior acting skills. No, the joke didn't offend me :-D In fact, I think poor ole Curezone is had just about as much offense taking and giving as it can stand. I think we all need to take a good cleansing breath and meditate on the wisdom of Sponge Bob, one of my favorite people.

my daughter installed 3 different programs on our computers plus we are behind a firewall.

some programs spot a certain virus and or trojans
others spot more or less

we had one program spot one virus attempt once while another spotted 7 trojan attempts and a couple trackers..

not all programs are as sensitive to others, not all look for same things.

I greatly suggest to everyone to have at least 2 good ones in place, and sweep every now and then with a 3rd.

ALso delete your cookies off and on, I could name a good dozen cookies I know
that are common "trackers"
these kind of things can carry a *hidden* program within them ,
that after it has gotten into your computer, it can then start slowing rewriting
computer stuff and next thign you know bam full blow virus overtake.

Delete cookies at least once a week,
and clean up and defrag as well.

btw I am computer illiterate *laugh*
this is my understanding of what my daughter has told me
I am sure she would explain it far different and much better.
so if I mis-said a few things , you know why.
but at any rate, what I do works well for me.
