Recently some questions have come up regarding this website and its team members and moderators. I notice that there are many misconceptions that need to be cleared up. I am going to attempt to do this insofar as my knowledge allows.
Curezone was founded in order to allow answers for people looking into alternative means of taking charge of their own bodies and health. It's valiant motto has been "educating instead of medicating". Therefore Curezone is, has always been and will always be an alternative health website.
As visitors to the website grew, so did the number of requests for different forums topics. The overwhelming majority of these forums are a place for people to gain knowledge and support from others, an in some cases, Curezone is the only place where like minded individuals can discuss these alternate protocols.
Little by little, the forums grew to include topics seemingly unrelated to health, such as spiritual, jokes, astrology, etc. But because the term holistic, or wholistic, implies body, mind and spirit, it was recognized that for real healing to take place, all these integrated and interconnected areas must be adressed.
At the request of one poster, (and still around)a
Christianity Forum was created. From the very beginning the christian forum has attracted a lot of debate, initially and most markedly by people with strong and antagonistic anti-christian views. But the case of christians going into non-christian forums to post dire warnings and accusations, was also evident. Fortunately for all of us, this kind of behavior has stopped.
The creation of two christian forums was the agreement of both christians and non christians, to allow the original christian forum to remain as a place for support and inspiration for readers who are not interested in debates.
Any kind of debating is very distasteful and upsetting to many Curezoners. So much so, that the idea of whether to allow
Debate Forums to exist or not has paradoxically been itself the subject of debate.
To try to compare how Curezone operates to other forums on the internet is irrelevant and useless. Curezone stands on its own as one of the web's largest websites of its kind. The team members in Curezone are voted on by other team members and are so chosen based on their knowledge of health matters and willingness and ability to share their experience with others. Not all moderators are team members. Not all moderators know each other.
No moderator is made exclusively responsible for any forum, unless it happens to be their own forum. Moderators do not exist on Curezone to "police" anything, although some take more liberties than others. There is no rule existing that prohibits moderators from posting whatever and whenever and wherever they want. All are deeply involved with alternative health care and all are trying to do their best as moderators.
The statements that Curezone is now "overwheighted" with christian moderators, or that there are now "several fundies" taking over Curezone, are simply not true. In reality there are two such moderators only, trying to keep a fair balance in the interests of Curezone.
I hope this serves to shed some light into some of the questions and assumptions that have come up recently. It is my sincere desire that before anyone posts anything on these
Debate Forums , two things are kept in mind:
Curezone was not designed to house religious debates, although it does. But it will never choose or take sides on these issues, simply because that is not the interest/goal/focus of it's originator or the great majority of it's consensus.
Before posting on any side of any issue up for debate, it would be a good idea to check the heart atittude. What is the true motivation for what is being written? Is it to help construct and edify, or is it an egotistic game of one-upmanship?
I hope in light of the reasons for the life of Curezone, that we can step back and examine the answers to these questions.
Peace and blessings to all.
