Hi, my name is Joshua. I'm 24, my last prescription change was from -6 to -6.5 in late 2000. I know that the jumps in prescription have become less ever since I got glasses at age 11. I feel that my eyes have been getting worse still, but every checkup they say I'm fine, and they test different prescriptions and tell me I am seeing best with what I got. I was once given a weaker prescription for any improvement, and I was reading more off the chart, and could see OK, but when I put the next pair of contacts on, I was almost blind with it. Also, an opthamologist suggested I could get Lasik done at the clinic, since my eyes had stabilised. That was a couple of years ago. What if I got it done, and my eyes changed like I feel they are? And when I say my vision has worsened, it is a weird sought of symptom, which happened with previous prescriptions. After a few months of perfect vision, things slowly change. Currently, text is only clearest at about 20 cm or more. Black text is slightly reddish, and slants and horizontal parts of text are at different levels of sharpness. I have never been told why. The last few months vision with contacts seems a bit hazyish. Under a room light, text will appear cloudyish. I guess my questions are:

Does anyone have or know of these symptoms (with the reddish text and clarity at 20 cm)?

If I used to get a new prescription every 3 to 4 years, and now I am still seeing 20/20 after 4 years, is it likely that my eyes have stabilised, and this condition has nothing to do with increasing myopia?
