Hey all! Just curious if anyone can relate to a well-balanced yoga studio in our grand old city of Toronto? I'm on the prowl...Oh! Also has anyone here attempted(his regime) or heard of a yoga teacher by the name of Bryan Kest? I have one of his VHS tapes. Very aggresive ashtanga,but very rewarding...Any "yoga wisdom" would be greatly appreciated...

I teach at the Sivananda Yoga Centre on Harbord St. (at Spadina). Classical yoga, meditation, pranayama. It's a wonderful place.

I'm not positive if prices are on the site. I think it's $14 for non-members, much less with membership....one of the cheapest places around as they're not profit oriented.
Actually I felt after I posted the above message that I should have stated that I have no financial interest in it. All Sivananda teachers are unpaid. We teach there for free because it's a great place and we strongly believe in it!
If you go there, tell them Janaki told you about it! Hope to see you there sometime.

If you are close to the Sivananda Centre, definitely check it out! Great dedicated teachers, and a lovely atmosphere, beautiful hardwood floors etc. The most enjoyable satsang in town. If I lived closer, I'd be chanting there every week.
Another place that teaches very precise hatha yoga is the Yoga Centre Toronto on Young St., N. of Eglinton. A friend of mine ( a yoga teacher)started taking a class there which is designed for people with specific health issues. She loves it.
If you are after ashtanga, I have come accross some ashtanga people here in the past, just don't remember where.
