My current favorite is at home on the hardwood floor using a bath towel that I fold up for use in Rites 3-5 with my Socks on(helps smooth sliding motion)...

This is a reply to # 564,430Actually, I've only ever done it on a hardwood floor in my bedroom, mostly barefoot and usually in PJ's, usually with a towel for rites 2 and 3.
I've done it a few times in carpet while away on vacation- I found rite 4 really hard to do on carpet- couldn't get the bum slide going.
How unadventurous of me!!- I keep my bum from sliding... Blackbeard

MoreThis is a reply to # 564,431By just pivoting my hips in position 4, and lifting up my feet and placing them up and down...then my bum just goes up and down...I prefer the slide also, but you have to improvise...

At an old site of a large kids sandbox...on dirt...had to move a few branches...interesting thing about dirt and rite 2...next time I will be like Dorothy and click my heels together, so I don't eat dirt...
With a Towel of course...I am not a total lunatic...

This is a reply to # 564,438Yesterday, I was interupted during my rest between rite 4 and 5...and forgot I hadn't done Rite 5 and got in the shower...then before I got too wet, while I was adjusting the water...I realized I wasn't done yet...so I shut off the water and get out, but don't want to dry and get redressed, so I just did rite 5 on the rug in the bathroom...it wasn't too bad, my bare feet slid easily across the rug so I could raise up...

This is a reply to # 564,445Spun too much for the first rite and felt dizzy...laid down on the bed...did the second rite, right on the bed...a little too springy though...
Also bought a mat that is going outside for the bottom of the kids slide...but have used the edge of that like I like to do with my towel....
