Just following up on the point "It really is a labrynth".
There is a principle that floats around out here/there - discernment; something apparently some people have/exercise, and other people don't. Lots of seemingly good natured people frequently advise it is critical to use for anyone yearning to uncover legitimate truths - that stuff stranger than fiction. It also seems that no two people necessarily come by it the same way. Some people seem to have a knack for having it, by well contemplated and rationale thinking, experience, commone sense, logic, by consulting one's higher self, divinination, wigi board, and the like, some people have it, and some of these seem to be able to demonstrate through valid example how others can attain it, others seem to be content at claiming they have it while also publicly observing and rediculing the masses in general for their total lack and failure in excercising the same capacity.
It really is a labyrynth. For anyone but especially those who after working an 8-5 M-F, spending a good part of the remainder of each day at another job - unsalaried, working at trying to get an idea for and figure out what the establishment did, locally, nationally, globally, during the same day's period at their job is a difficult task that in the short term is easier left untried. With respect to what the establishment has done throughout history, the average truth seeker starts out decades to centuries behind at knowing what the establishment is currently up to, and why.
Sure would be nice that everyone could assume they have "it", this would put all disinfo-artist's craft in play since the exercise would be an easy one - everyone knows how to discern these works and recognize the pieces of truth otherwise wrapped in mis-directing lies. On the other hand, assuming nobody has it, this puts everyone in the position of questioning - how is it they've come to know whatever it is they believe they know about anything of significance? For the majority who have traditionally relied on getting their knowledge about the establishment from the establishment and it's numerous mainstream institutions, be it the Iraq war, the notion of global terrorism, local or national politics, anything of significance, here is a stranger-than-fiction truth for you - you need to assume that what you believe to be true is based on information that came to you as some truth mixed with dis-information, mis-information, propaganda and lies, and if you are not capable of genuinely discerning one from the other, discard it, all of it, and start from scratch. Good luck!
