We had a dog diagnosed with incurable kidney disease. The vet indicated that it was caused by high levels of phosphorus in the dog's food. The dog was lethargic and had scant urine output. The vet said that kidney failure was inevitable and that the dog would die in a few months time.
He prescribed a hormone injection 2x per day to help with urine flow. The shots were extremely painful, especially given that it is a small (13lb) dog.
I 'prescribed' a change of food, distilled water, and Kidney Bladder formula. I also advised as much exercise as possible so that the dog was thirsty and actually drank the water.
It is now 2 months later. The dog has energy and urinates fine. She also shows no signs of suffering from any kidney/urination pain.
The dog went to the vet this past Friday for a full workup - blood work and all.
The vet called this a.m. and said, "You are not going to believe the results."
The dog is cured. Blood was completely clear. He says he has never seen a dog come out of this. Never.
No more shots! A healthy dog (and he is only 2!). You can bet they are staying on the KB formula, distilled, and the new dog food!
