For years I've noticed during the week prior to my period that certain things taste better and some don't taste as good. For instance, I love red wine and typically have a glass or two each night with dinner. But during my 'PMS week,' I find that the wine, any wine, has an almost bitter quality to it. I also tend to crave sweets more (which I think is common). It's as though my body craves the sweets because those tastes 'register' more than non-sweet things (such as wine and certain varieties of tea).
Has anyone else noticed this? Any clue as to WHY it happens? I've always been curious about and fascinated by the intricate workings of the human body.
