My friend has the same "delima" and I don't dare advise her to go ahead because not enough "scientific research" has been done on the subject.  It's her decision. I read some articles like this one that says that most of the mercury is derived in the intestines and the rest through perspiration urine etc... I send her the articles.

First of all I am not a health consultant or anything like that. This is my personal opinion relying on my experience with the therapy and waht I have read, but I would not be afraid to try the therapy. I trust that nature sends only a small quantity through the kidneys just enough, if the urine is injested, to wake up the immune system to get rid of those metals (toxic wastes). Urine is not a waste product like we were led to believe but the kidneys exists to 'regulate the blood' and the wastes are send by the liver mostly through the intestines. 

Urinotherapy is a great detoxifier.  We all have metals in our body to a certain extend (some more than others) and I never read a testimony saying that urotherapy made their case worse.  The only downside is a "detox crisis" that one can go through at the beginning of the therapy (3-4 days), but mostly if somebody starts the therapy too fast. 

Its a personnal decision. From what I read I would not be afraid to take the therapy with metals in my body, but there are other avenues that one might want to try:
