Squirrelly Girl
A friend of mine told me she puts the whole lemon through her electric juicer, just scrubs the skin first, cuts off the pointy ends, and shoves 'em through in big slabs.
I tried that today, but I cut off the yellow skin, about 2mm thick or so, leaving the inner white skin intact. Made nice frothy juice and tasted delicious in my lemon drink.
I've always just juiced the lemons by cutting them in half and using a little plastic juicer in a soup bowl and doing it by hand.
Does anyone know if it's OK to do it this way, whole, through the electric juicer? Surely if they're not organic lemons, there's be guck on the skins at the very least, and a fruit and vegetable spray-wash product would be in line, but I'm still afraid to try it whole. Wouldn't it be bitter? Would it be too much fiber?
Thanks,
In Christ,
Squirrel
