I'm new to the group, been here about 1 month reading about what other people have to say and ask. And I thought I would present my problem with everybody and hopefully someone could help me. 15 years ago the liver doc told me my liver ducts were closing shut from scar tissue what they call Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis . They determind this by a test called an ercp where doc runs a scope down my throat with a camera and into the duct. I'm thinking he took a tissue sample to verify this but not sure. The last time I had this test done the doc said the bile was bearly dripping out. Because the ducts were just about shut.That was about 4 years ago.1st question does scar tissue look like stones? 2nd If I try a flush and something gets stuck in duct will it stay there or retract? A miracle waiting to happen or a death sentence? I also have either colitis or crohns. I've been told that I have both. Sometimes you just have to feel lucky. And I was wondering if the salt would bother the colitis? So I was wondering if anybody in group tried the flush that has colitis and how you made out? I was also wondering if anybody in group has PSC and has tried the flush and how they made out? I know someone in the group can HELP. Thanks Tom

Hi Tom,
I also have either colitis or crohns. I am doing my 9th flush tonight. I haven't had any problem with the Epsom Salts bothering me. They do their job and that's it. I highly recommend doing a flush for improvement of IBD/IBS. I get a little bit better after each flush and I'm hoping that I am close to the end by now. Finding out about these flushes was VERY lucky for me since I had tried so many other things that never helped. I am not completely better yet but I hope that I soon will be. The things that have helped me the most are the flushes and taking up running as a form of regular exercise.

This is a reply to # 516,964I am new to the group. It is my son who suffers from PSC. He is 18 years. I am most interested in educating myself with people's real lives experiences.
I find very hard to get basic info untill it is too late. Our son was told that he suffers from stress and prozac were prescribed in the hundreds.

I am 29 and just have been diagnosed with PSC. Apparently I have had this for 20 years or so. It has been one of those medical mystery things since it's a rare condition. I read that a lot of people get this if they have gastointestinal issues. I am without gallbladder and a large intestine because of colitis. My symptoms were increased liver eynzymes and a LOT of itching, oh goodness it was horrid.
My doctor put me on something called Prevalite, something to help with the intense itching. Also with this conditon, you apparently do not absorb vitamin D, so he put me on calcitrol. There was a medicine called Ursodiol that he had me on (very expensive and it was a lot of pills) but i quit taking it, went back to him and he said in large doses it could be harmful, so he was not upset I d/c'd it without his permission.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for this disease. Transplantation is the only thing that will work. Only way to see how your PSC has spread is through blood tests and liver biopsies. I recently was told my liver was shot, then got my bipsy and there was no scarring whatsoever. So things are looking good.

I have colitis and have done three flushes. Four doses of Epsom Salts was too much for me I had irritated colon for about a week after flush. I cut my ES to 3 doses instead of 4. I only use 2 tsp. per dose. I took one dose the morning after flush and may not take any the next time. My health provider says the morning dose is optional.
