I’m really hoping someone can help me and hopefully give me some answers.
Basically my periods started when I was 13 and I started having a period with just two week gaps in between and they were very heavy and so I was put on the pill by my doctor and told they would sort themselves out in a couple of years.
Although I was not having periods as regularly they were still quite painful and heavy.
I then heard about the injection which for the short time that I was on it did help my periods but I didn’t feel good in myself and so I came off it and didn’t have a period for months, then when I finally did it lasted for weeks and weeks!
I decided to give my body a break but started having periods too frequently again so went back on the pill-during this time I was referred to the hospital and I had an internal examination which was fine and an ultrasound which was fine-that was nearly 3 years ago.
I soon was not getting to the end of the packet of a pill and coming on regardless-so my pill was changed-also at least once in my period I will use the strongest super strength tampons and bleed through it the second I have put in in and have to change(which once happened a few times in a row and my mom had to get something from the doctor to completely stop my period) and also have to get up in the night to change my sanitary towels (when I explained this to my doctor recently she said ‘yes that is inconvenient!) so I have been to the doctors a few times recently but as well as the above I was just told I probably have an unfortunate cycle-which I suppose would be ok but I’m still a bit worried as every time I go to the doctors they don’t seem to listen and I just get a re prescription for the pill or a new pill-for example the last time I went to the doctors(which ive vowed is the last time because I feel im making a fuss and feel stupid)I went because I read an article on endometriosis about a 22 year old girl and the story sounded identical to mine and doctors once thought my aunty had it(she hasn’t-it was pcos) so I mentioned it to the doctor who looked at me though I was mad and said that if I had that I would be in excruciating pain and only women over 30 who’d had kids get it. And shock Horror- I was given a new pill.
Also lately The pain Iv had for quite a while on and off very low down my abdomen(where I think the ovaries are)especially on the right side has been getting worse-its only just eased up today after two weeks-it’s a sharp shooting pain that comes and goes but constantly feels uncomfortable in the weeks that it hurts-especially if I move suddenly-also when I have a wee it really hurts just before I wee. The area also feels very hard, and also seems to make the top of my leg ache too? When I mentioned it to the doctor she said it could be anything and probably just water retention? Im sorry but surely not? Not in a pinpointed spot? And she said the best thing for me to do would be to have the injection-I explained Id done that once and did not want to again-and she said what I needed to do is have the injection and take the pill at the same time! Which I don’t want to do if the injection alone didn’t agree with me!!
Although Iv had an internal and an ultrasound a few years ago-Iv heard the tests for endometriosis are having a scan but they have to inject you with a dye or inserting a small camera through an incision above your belly button?
I no ive gone on but if anyone could help me or has any ideas or anyone does think ive just got an unfortunate cycle I would be very grateful for any info or help.
Thanks
