For the past 8 months I have been having exessize pain in my ovaries(by this point I know exactly where they are. Endometriosis runs in my family--my grandma, mom, and aunt all had it ( my aunt ahd a hysterectamy a couple years ago. I have pain in either side whenever, anytime, including during(sometimes)and after more these days. I have also been really tired for the past few months, but my main gyno doc found a synus infection. I have also been dizzy more, with I wonder if it was just the inection.
A few years ago when I still lived with my mom, she said the pain I felt was from ovulation, but I wonder if that's what it was, but I know it's not that now. As far as I'm concerned the pill has not helped my symptoms. I've been taking the pill for over a year now, and started feeling the regular pain before Thanksgiving. When I first started having sex(last year), I remember there being pain inside during certain positions. That's how it is now.
I saw my specialist doctor 3 months ago, and have been on continuous birth control ever since. The spotting for the most part has finally disipated. Before it did, I was instructed to try taking this pill with super high hormones, with frightening side-effects. That pill messed with my head way to much. Back to the ortho.
My laproscopic surgery is scheduled for the middle of August, and I'm scared a bit, since I've never had surgery. And also because it may not even get all the endo out. I am also worried that the birth control may be making this worse, since the pain did not start til I've been on it for a while.
Be careful when your doctor tries to give you hormones(the pill etc). It is true that we need to give our ovaries a rest during this, but hormones could do wrong. My mother said that the hormone she was on once had a reverse effect, and made the endo grow, not shrink. By the time she was my age(21) she already had her first surgery for endo.
