I miss chewing and food, but my jaw is thanking me profusely for giving it a rest. My TMJ was getting progressively worse, and I think a break from chewing was very needed. :)
I've noticed for the couple of days that my jaw actually hurts because it's closed all the time. I feel like I'm clamping down. I really miss gum. I hate the taste in my mouth and its the worst in the evening and at night! By the way - I'm on day 5!
You might try mint tea. I've had it only once but I think it may help if it's taken every other day or so. I'm on day 12 and still have alot of fuz on my tongue. Yeah, it's a really bad taste. I wish you the very best on your fast.

I actually chopped up the rind of 1/2 of a lemon per 8 lemons and it gives me quite a bit to chew. I use a wide straw so that I get a "bite" with every swallow.
