has anyone here experienced anything surreal at Avebury? i have been there three times recently and each time something rather strange has occured although the last one spun me out. Was staying there the night with my boyfriend and we were parked in a back lane entry on the east side of the circle. we stayed in the circle until about 3 (by the gnarled wonder-trees) but when we went back to the car, things went a bit awol. There was a sense we were being watched and we were uneasy. (neither one of us are terror mongers or hysterical). when my boyfriend got out the car to have a wee, i got out too feeling strangely uncomfortable. Next thing I see these pulsing, most unnatural lights coming and going through the lane trees... I was shocked but each time i looked back, the dull lights continued.. my boyfriend then stated he was seeing something too (I hadnt said anything until this point) and hen we got in the car, we both became overcome by an interior fear (no reason). we had to leave immediately...
later, after my boyfriend and I had argued nastily for some time, we discovered his view of the lights were that they were blue, mine orange??? and he ascribed the feeling as looking at something like that from the film 'predator'...
