"remember, paul said faith without works is dead. if a person believes something, they think as if and act as if it is true. if they dont do this, they dont believe it, no matter what they say."
Actually it was James who said faith without works is dead. (James 2:17)
Here is what Paul said in the Book of Ephesians:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.
But, you are right Faith is everything, but the faith must be based in truth not just wishful thinking of what one might wish was true.
One more verse: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
Works done outside of the truth are done in vain and no good or healing can come from them.
