Yes, the minerals in unrefined seasalt can readily be used by the body. It is an essential food addition. Because of that it used to be was traded as a very precious commodity, more precious than gold. People would get sick if they didn't get this salt, just as they do today. Although people eat more of what they call "salt" (sodium chloride) than ever before, they suffer from salt deficiency. Commercial salt is everything but true salt, and co-responsible for numerous circulatory problems, such as high blood pressure, blood disorders, lymphatic congestion, cell damage. Most non-carnevorous mammals animals cannot survive without real salt. Elephants often travel hundreds of miles or climb up steep mountains to find it. We humans require it just as much.
