We hear of the USA's use of the "chemical weapon" in a way, in the phosphorus bombs used over Fallujah Iraq. Yet, we don't know much about it - what happens, whats it feel like, who got hits, and lingering after effects of phosphorus on the ground and in your skin.
Closer to home - your skin... or the skin of the people in a Republican conferance, or the senate's skin, or most poignant, media's skin. Feel the Burn.
I am not suggesting any action, just what it feels like - is the use of phosphorus bombs on civilians OR combatants "an american way" action, or not? Should we stop using it if it is "not the American way"?
In making this decision, as a nation, to confirm that these bombs are right up our alley, the kind of thing we would like to see more of in the world's conflicts... We need to know what they do.
If Americans got hit with it,just a few compared to the 100s or 1000s in Iraq who got hit, and the pictures got on American TV for all to see the effects of phosphorus bombs, I really truly believe Americans would be repulsed and say "NO!! this weapon is too horrific, we don't want it used against anyone, and especially not when it could hit civilians".
A Republican Convention, coming down from the ceiling
A media scrum with cameras rolling...
A shoppng mall in Ohio on a Saturday afternoon...
Those images would let the USA public know what they are doing to others.
The skin melts down to the bone. It continues to burn until it is deprived of oxygen - victims can bleed to death when it eats thru arteries, your guts will spill out but you won't notice due to the burning sensations overwhelming you.
Doctor's in Iraq have seen victims of this bomb come into their hospitals, there are records of it.
We've got to know what it is we are doing, or what is being done in OUR names or for OUR sake... what if the enemy retaliates with this same weapon? Is it what we want our boys in uniform to face?
The same reason we used to avoid torture was out of respect for our own soldier's fate... no longer respecting them by using toerure and phosphorus, and that may be the bottom line for Americans. Either way, Bush has a lot to answer for, he should be impeached and jailed.
