To my Friends on CureZone:
I've been reading Ed McCabe's book about oxygen, and I think I probably need an
ozone machine to clean the air in this
apt I live in.
I live in South Florida. Hurricane Wilma
tore holes in the roof that I share with
one neighbor. A month or so later, I stuck
my head up into the attic, and was appalled
at the mold, the wetness, and the smell.
Since then, we have a new metal roof. But
I don't think the attic itself was ever
touched. I also think my A.C. vents are
moldy with toxins. I don't want to pay
some A.C. company to clean it with chemicals
that are more toxic than the mold. That's
why I'm considering an ozone machine.
The apt is about 1100 square feet. If any
of you have any thoughts or recommendations
about air ozonators, I'd love to hear them.
I'm sure these questions have been asked before, so feel free to point me toward
an old post that might help me.

This is a reply to # 447,739First off, make sure you get one that is high power enough and stay away from high-profile big names (like SharperImage). They are pretty much useless as far as ozone output goes. Aranizer's and air-zone.com are very good (see aranistic-air.com and air-zone.com). Enaly makes some as well and I know they make decent water ozonators.
If I were you, the first thing I'd do once you get one is put it up in your attic and let it run for a week or so at full level. Then move it down into your apt.

Thanks for the prompt and informative response
to my question. I went to the Air-Zone site,
and was very impressed with their presentation. I will call them tomorrow,
and talk about my situation.
The Aranistic site wasn't as informative for
me. The one product I clicked on was $1800.00
That's out of my price range.
On Ed McCabe's list of resources, is a South
Florida company called Family Health News.
I bought some Colosan from them last year,
so I have their small catalog. In it, Rog,
they offer an ozone air-scrubber by the name
of Triatomic. It sells for $420.00. Does that
name ring a bell with you?
That's a good idea about putting the unit in
the attic for a week. I'll let you know
what I eventually decide to do. I'm grateful
for your advice.

MoreThis is a reply to # 447,741Yes, the Aranisers are a bit pricey. The website I mentioned is actually one of their dealers (the cheapest I've found). The official company website is aranizer.com. But air-zone should serve you well.
No, I haven't heard of Triatomic. If McCabe recommends them then it's probably pretty good.

I have been looking to get the XT-400 or the XT-800 ($329 / $439) they look to be relly good units. The company is also very helpful, they actually have a human answerig the telephone!

Thanks for that very helpful message. I agree
with you about Air-Zone. I spoke with someone
there a few hours ago, and described my
situation. She thought the Xt-800 would be
the best ozone machine for me. i like the
idea that they make the units, as well as
sell them.
If I end up buying one, I'll let you all know
my impressions of it. If anyone else already
owns an Air-Zone machine, I'd like very much
to get some feedback from you.

Interestigly, I had noticed that the company sometimes offers "reconditioned" units [for a lower price and with full warranty] obtained from people who may upgrade or for whatever reason, return a unit. I thought this may help me to get the 800 vs. the 400. Well, it was disappointing and encouraging to hear from Air-Zone that they rarely get any returns so they seldom have any refurbished units available. This made a terrific unintentional reference for me.
In any case, the company does seem to offer a good warrantee as well.
Please post your decision and results with your unit. I am saving the extra cash to go for the 800 model.

I just wanted to say that I own an Air-Zone water ozonator and am extremely happy with it. It is sturdy, good looking and well made. I have used it every day for about a year and a half now.
For cleaning the air, I use an Aranizer and I like that alot too. It was a debate whether to go with the Aranizer or Air-Zone for cleaning the air. I read through all the messages on Cure-Zone and there was so much positive feedback on the Aranizer, I went with that one.
I think you will be happy with either brand.
