I don't know what managed disease care is - a term like allopathic medicine perhaps.

Holistic care is certainly not the same as alternative medicine.

I have had a cursory look at this blog and the first thing that stares you in the face are massively inflated figures for iatrogenic deaths, plucked from the ether!

To tackle two other points

1) apples and oranges

rubbish - there are all sorts of measures to analyse these things like QOL etc. you cannot say these therapies cannot be measured and so avoid testing them

2) conventional medicine is unscientific

again ignores the evidence. this guy has obviously never come across the principles of EBM. the existence of bad Science doesn't mean that Science is bad. and it certainly doesn't excuse the lack of scientific evaluation of alternative remedies
