It is pretty sad that a doctor does not even know that Vitamin B5 exists. The study of the common vitamins is pretty basic. Although it's possible that he/she is familiar with the term pantothenic acid, they should know BOTH. Even people who buy shampoo become aware that b5 and pantothenic acid are equivocal!
Anyway, I wouldn't bother asking your doctor about vitamin B5 because obviously that doctor is not educated in even basic nutrition and would likely be skeptical of any vitamin remedies/therapies.
Please read my post above titled "Vitamin B5/Pantothenic Acid Information." As I mention, it is veritably impossible to overdose on B5 due to its nature, so you are free to try it without worries.
